Pulling Back The Curtain – Inside The Mind of Christopher Rausch

Today I embark on a new chapter in my life. I’m choosing, slowly but surely, to let go of what’s no longer working for me and what’s no longer important in my life.

For the last couple of months I’ve been consumed with reading a book titled “Letting Go – The Pathway to Surrender” and honestly, it’s helping me transition to the next chapter of my life.

When you sit back and think about it, depending what age you are, as we move through life, we tend to pick up some baggage along our journey. Some of it good – like awesome experiences and also tools and resources. However, most of it is probably complete bullshit that’s got to go!

I guess we think at the time it’s serving us in someway when really it’s slowly killing us inside. Do you ever feel that way? Like you’re weighed down so much you don’t know what to do? Have you lost who you really are from all the negative conditioning that’s happened that you probably aren’t aware of?

I’ve been studying personal development for over thirty years. I’ve been officially teaching it through my coaching and speaking since 2008 when I started my business Master Motivators. In that time I’ve experienced many highs and lows all of which I consider learning opportunities for me to continue to grow and develop myself.

Me on Cruise (Prof picture for MM (reduced image size)When I started speaking I was just like everyone else. Blue suit, red tie, shiny shoes, and basically delivering the same content as those before me and those around me. In a nutshell, I fit in to what is expected from a “Motivational Speaker.” Of course, I still had my own way of delivering it but also trying to fit into the norm.

Well, that was until I came offstage about 2012 and had an epiphany that changed my perspective and subsequent actions since. I realized I was faking who I was. I was dressing up in this costume to fit in and “look the part.” To be accepted, liked, and of course, hired. I was trading who I was at my core for what? Depending where you’re at in life, you’ll come to realize while money and possessions are great, being authentic and having the right people around is way more rewarding in the long-term!

After that realization, and getting around people who were brighter and smarter than I (coaching and masterminds) I decided to change my style and brand altogether and just be me. Interesting concept I know right? But seriously, I’m a fun-loving, sarcastic, and passionate person who loves to inspire and entertain people with my natural and learned gifts. I don’t need a suit and tie to do that! I don’t need to watch every word I say to do that. Sure, with my colorful language it might not be embraced by everyone, but who fucking cares? Well, I did, but then decided if I’m not for that person, then it’s fine. There’s plenty of us to go around and my ego won’t be tied to winning those people over!

Hello Mr. KICKASS!

So was born The KICKASS™ Guide to Life! KICKASS™ Motivation for KICKASS™ People! I then created my 30 second elevator pitch which has garnered lots of raised eyebrows, warm smiles, and some laughs. Wanna hear it? Well, tough shit if you said “no” cuz i’ve got you captured in my spell now! Brace yourself! It reads:

“I help people overcome their self-created crap without the self-help fluffy bullshit!” Then it goes on to say “I’m like a cross between Tony Robbins + George Carlin at an AC/DC concert!”

Now, how’s that for breaking the mold on what a “Motivational Speaker” is huh? Shit yeah that rocks!

I share all this with you to gain an inside perspective into my life so as I share more via this blog and videos I’ll do to support, you’ll better understand where I’m going with this! It’s an all-access pass behind the scenes if you will into the confessions of a motivational speaker haha. But seriously, my legacy will be this:

That I fought for what was right and fair

That I will have risked for which that mattered

And I will have left this Earth a better place for who I was and what I did!

Pretty KICKASS™ I’d say right?

So, fasten your seat belt ladies and gents, we’re headed into the conversation about the beloved EGO. The hows and whys of what we’ve become and how to change it. Are you ready to pull back the curtain on your own beliefs? Are you ready to discover some of the crap baggage you’re carrying that’s weighing you down in your soul? Well, if you are, then I’m happy to have you!

If you like, I’d welcome your feedback on this blog and what areas you’d like me to touch on in the coming posts related to ego. Of course, I’ll change the names to protect the innocent. I want you to know we’re in this together! And, above all else, I want my experiences, both positive and negative, to help you achieve an UNSTOPPABLE attitude for personal and professional success!!
